As a special event volunteer, you’ll be an essential part of helping The Women’s Resource operate! Volunteers are an important, valuable part of every fundraising event we host. They help with setup, guest check in, and donation collection to help us ensure we raise the most money we can, and spread word of our mission successfully. Not only are fundraising events a hugely important part of what brings our services to women and girls in need, they are also a fun way to get engaged. You’ll work with other volunteers, get to meet like-minded people, and attend events for free! FAQs

The first step to becoming a volunteer is to complete our Volunteer Application. On the Volunteer Application, select the volunteer job(s) that interest you! Someone from our team will then contact you with more information, including information about any upcoming orientations for the job(s) you’ve selected.

Yes, it is a requirement that we run background screenings on all volunteers. Volunteers are asked to check a box on the Volunteer Application which gives us permission to run a background screening using the information provided on their application. Volunteers must clear our Background Screening process to volunteer. This is an important measure we take to ensure the safety of our clients, partners, volunteers and staff.

Nope! With our RISE! and YourLife programs, we provide training and workbooks with all information volunteers need to know. We also keep volunteers informed through workshops and additional trainings.

Our classes do not take place at our office, but rather throughout the city of Houston. Click here to view our list of partners.
