FAQs

No, you do not need to live in Houston. However, most training programs are held in Houston, and participants must be able to attend in-person training for the full duration of the program.

Training formats vary by program. While some programs may offer virtual components, most—especially those in the skilled trades—are held in person.

In-person training sessions are typically held at one of our partner training schools located throughout the Houston area.

Program hours depend on the specific training. Most sessions take place during daytime hours.

Participants may enroll in one training per grant year (September 1–August 31).
Former participants must speak with a Career Coach before applying for an additional training through The Women’s Resource.
