The Women’s Resource Announces 2025 Outstanding Women in Banking & Finance Award Honorees

HOUSTON, TX (November 13, 2024) – The Women’s Resource of Greater Houston has announced the recipients of its 2025 Outstanding Women in Banking and Finance Award. 

The Outstanding Women in Banking and Finance Award is a prestigious recognition that celebrates the remarkable contributions and achievements of women who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, innovation, and dedication in the realm of banking and finance. By highlighting their accomplishments, the award underscores the pivotal role these women play in shaping the industry and inspiring positive change. 

Candidates were nominated by their peers and selected based on several criteria, including professional background, community service, and the impact she has had on her field or organization. 

“We’re incredibly honored to celebrate these remarkable women for their impactful contributions to Houston’s banking and finance industries,” said Christine Powell, CEO of The Women’s Resource. “At the heart of our mission is the belief that a woman who controls her finances controls her destiny. This 2025 cohort embodies that truth, showing the women and girls of Houston what’s possible when they own their power, embrace their potential, and step boldly into their dreams.” 

The 2025 cohort of honorees will be recognized at The Women’s Resource’s Annual Make a Difference Luncheon on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the Royal Sonesta.

Honorees

Angela R. Durrett

Executive Vice President and Regional Credit Officer
Stellar Bank

Angela R. Durrett is an Executive Vice President at Stellar Bank and serves as Regional Credit Officer for Commercial Banking. Ms. Durrett’s area of expertise is credit underwriting, and over her 26-year banking career, she has created credit training platforms at multiple banks and developed credit skills in over 125 credit analysts. She is known for cultivating credit departments that encourage growth and celebrate team success. Ms. Durrett also plays a foundational role in the credit training aspect of Stellar Bank’s Officer Development Program. In 2024, she created an online credit training pathway to serve as a resource for analysts and other bank employees seeking educational opportunities. 

Ms. Durrett’s leadership approach allows individuals to thrive by highlighting their strengths and supporting continual learning opportunities. She models the “never stop learning” motto by continually challenging herself. Recent challenges include authorship of an enhanced credit stress testing process and participation in Stellar Bank’s 2024 Emerging Leaders Program. 

Being enthusiastic about credit risk management, Ms. Durrett is an advocate of the Risk Management Association and has been an RMA member for over 20 years. Her professional involvement includes eight years on the local board, Chairperson of the National Young Professionals Group for three years, and a member of the host committee for the Annual RMA Conference for five years. 

Having two grown daughters, Ms. Durrett strives to model that women can be strong, smart, and capable, but does attest that her family’s support contributed to her ability to be successful. The Durretts enjoy relaxing at home with their dogs and pet goats and enjoy spontaneous and competitive family game nights. Ms. Durrett looks forward to continuing to serve her bank and her community in the most “stellar” way possible.


Diane Maben

Chief Operating Officer
Amegy Bank

A Tennessee native, Diane Maben serves as Amegy Bank’s Chief Operating Officer, responsible for providing direction to the operational functions of the bank and partnering with other leadership on strategic areas of organizational growth. With over 40 years of experience in the banking and finance industry, Ms. Maben has held various positions at Amegy, including Executive Vice President and Manager of Administrative Services; prior to joining Amegy, she served as Bank United’s centralized loan center manager and as product team manager at Washington Mutual. 

Ms. Maben serves her civic community on the boards of Pro-Vision Inc., Sam Houston Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, and the American Red Cross – Gulf Coast Region. She was the 2018 recipient of the National Black MBA Association – Houston Chapter Leadership Legacy Award and was a 2020 American Bankers Association George Bailey Distinguished Service award nominee.  

Ms. Maben obtained her bachelor’s degree in economics from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts.


Deborah Stavis

Deborah Stavis has served Houston families for over 35 years as a private wealth manager, having owned and operated two successful, Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firms. 

Her true purpose in holistic financial and estate planning is to make a lasting difference in the lives of client families and communities by helping them develop and strengthen their estate and strategic philanthropic plans. 

An inherent instructor, Ms. Stavis has taught at Rice University’s Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies since 1984. She has created original content and presented at numerous conferences for Shell Oil Company, SHELL Women Adding Value Everywhere (WAVE), the SHELL Alumni Association, and the Women’s Energy Network. 

She is actively involved in the Houston community as a founding member of the Barbara Bush Ladies for Literacy Guild and the Barbara Bush Foundation Celebration of Reading Committee since its inception in 1994. 

Ms. Stavis has been an honoree of Houston Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business Award. She has also been featured in numerous publications, including the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Bloomberg, Houston Chronicle, Oil & Gas Investor, and Investment News. In March 2024, Ms. Stavis was officially inducted into the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame.


Page Vogelsang

Executive Vice President and Partner

With decades in the insurance industry, Page Vogelsang has supported a wide range of clients with a focus on leading teams that design risk financing solutions. Prior to joining Lockton, she focused on large and complex clients with a special focus on the healthcare industry. 

As a member of Lockton’s Texas Series and Dunning Series, she continues to serve as a strategic consultant on complex engagements focused on property/casualty and employee benefits. Her leadership adds experience and depth to clients in an array of industries, including professional services, healthcare, and energy. 

Ms. Vogelsang began her insurance career with Healthcare Insurance Services, Inc. And Arthur J. Gallagher. She is an active member of several insurance organizations, including the Professional Liability Underwriting Society and the American Society for Health Care Risk Management. 


Danika Yeager

Senior Vice President of U.S. Natural Gas Pipelines
TC Energy

As Senior Vice President of U.S. Natural Gas Pipelines, Danika Yeager is responsible for the operation and maintenance of TC Energy’s 32,000 miles of natural gas pipelines in the U.S. She is also responsible for land management, environmental regulations and compliance with the U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA). Ms. Yeager also serves as President, Columbia Pipelines, a joint venture with Global Infrastructure Partners. She is based in Houston, Texas. 

Ms. Yeager joined TC Energy in September 2022 from Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, where she served as President. Ms. Yeager first joined Alyeska as Vice President of Operations and Maintenance in April 2021, overseeing all operations and maintenance of pipeline, pump station and marine terminal assets from Prudhoe Bay to Valdez, Alaska. 

Prior to joining Alyeska, she led the development of a $1.2 billion crude export terminal with Long Star Ports, LLC in Corpus Christi, Texas. She also previously held executive positions at Colonial Pipeline Company and Enterprise Products Company. 

Ms. Yeager has 25 years of midstream experience in Operations, HSE, Regulatory Compliance, Commercial and Joint Venture partnerships on both the board ownership and operator sides. She has diverse knowledge of the midstream oil and gas industry, with a proven track record of leading successful teams and overseeing complex systems. Ms. Yeager has served and continues to serve on several American Petroleum Institute (API) committees, including the Pipeline Leadership Committee, Midstream Committee, Pipeline Safety Committee and the Performance Excellence Team. She also served on the Board of the Alaska Oil & Gas Association (AOGA), and she is an active member of the Board of the Young Pipeline Professionals (YPP) USA. 

Ms. Yeager earned a Bachelor of Arts from Mary Washington College in Virginia, a Master of Science from the University of South Carolina, and a Master of Business Administration from Richmond College in London, England. She is currently working toward a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from the University of Houston – Clear Lake.
