A Celebration of Houston’s Women Leaders
April 6, 2023 | 11:30 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. | The Westin Galleria
At The Women’s Resource, we envision a day when all women and girls have the knowledge, skills and confidence to make sound decisions for their financial futures. Our programs provide an educational foundation that will result in improved financial stability.
The Annual Luncheon provides essential financial support for our clients. The support we receive from this event helps to ensure that the hundreds of women and girls we serve every year continue to have the resources they need to be independent, productive, and financially stable.

Featured Speaker: Lauren Sparks, Founder & CEO, Agility Bank
We are excited to feature one of Houston’s top leaders in banking as this year’s event speaker. Lauren Sparks founded Agility 2020, Inc., the entity that proposed a federally chartered bank, primarily owned and led by women. Today, Agility Bank is open and operating in Houston as the first women-owned and led Minority Depository Institution founded for its purpose in the country. With over three decades of community banking and risk management experience, Lauren is uniquely qualified to foster the growth of a digital-forward community bank.
As a business owner herself, Lauren executed exceptional opportunities for entrepreneurs, especially women. In 2009, she formed Third Party Resources, Inc. (3PR Inc.), a woman-owned consulting firm specializing in community banks and financial service firms. 3PR serves more than 30 community banks at any given time and has become a preferred vendor for one of the world’s largest software providers.
Lauren is also a 2021 recipient of the Houston Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business Award as an Outstanding Business Leader in Finance. This award recognizes women in leadership roles that have demonstrated excellence in their careers and community.

Our Mission
The Women’s Resource helps women and girls make choices toward becoming independent, productive and financially stable. We envision a day when every woman and girl has the KNOWLEDGE and HOPE she needs to reach her financial goals.
In our programs, women acquire the essential financial knowledge, skills and confidence they need to make sound decisions and improve their lives – for themselves and for generations to come. For 2.8 million Houstonians who are experiencing financial distress, The Women’s Resource trains and coaches women and girls, meeting them where they are. We inspire financial change, improving financial health, and overall individual and family well-being. For more information about our history, community impact and programs, click here.
