Volunteer

"Despite difficult economic times, the number of Americans volunteering jumped
by 1.6 million in 20
09.  This is the largest increase in six years. The report found that 63.4 million Americans volunteered through formal organizations in 2009 and provided more than 8.1 billion hours of service worth an estimated $169 billion."  Corporation for National and Community Service

Volunteers are essential to The Women's Resource of Greater Houston's success! Each year, our volunteers teach more than 200 financial education classes, serve as guest speakers for Project LEAD, plan two major events and serve on committees. It would be impossible for the The Women's Resource of Greater Houston to accomplish our mission without volunteer participation.

By preparing all materials, offering classes free of charge, scheduling the classes and matching volunteers, The Women's Resource enables the host organization/agency to fully concentrate on their mission and area of expertise and allows volunteers to do what they love- teach!

If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the attached Volunteer Questionnaire and send it in to us or call us.

The reason I volunteer to teach these classes is because I believe we make the best choices we can based on the information that we have. So the more information we have the better choice we can make.
